Hey Chloe! As a fellow barista at an on campus Starbucks I can totally understand this need and have honestly benefitted in some ways by getting to take food home and give some out to friends. However, there are definitely better, more sustainable ways of handling this issue haha. About your pitch, I think there are a few things you can improve on for the future. Elevator pitches are usually given standing up, professionally dressed, and to an audience. Also, I would suggest if you are using a webcam style, to keep eye contact with the camera because as you were looking around it was a little distracting.
ReplyDeleteHi Chloe! I said in your previous post, but I truly do think your idea is fantastic and its refreshing to see my own generation passionate about helping the less fortunate. However, I also had to say that your idea needed some fleshing out. Food regulation policies would not allow you to just give out the food. But if you speak experts at the pantry on campus, it could set you on the right track. On the topic of your pitch I think that you laid your points out clearly. But I think you need a bit more familiarity with your topic so when you speak about it you are more at home with it. Also, I think if you treat elevator pitches like professional business meetings clothing and environment wise it would help you in the long run.
ReplyDeleteHi Chloe.
ReplyDeleteYour idea is very good and I really like the way it is going. I would look into the idea a little more because, although it is true that you must abide by food regulation policies, there are still some organizations that do exactly what you are talking about with no trouble at all. St. Francis house has to abide by food policies, but still gives out what is donated from grocers (which are often surplus). So I would continue looking into this idea because it has a lot of potential.
Hello Chloe,
ReplyDeleteI believe that your elevator pitch was very well done. You brought up aspects that were not mentioned in your prior posts regarding transportation of surplus food. If Uber were a viable form of transportation for excess food, that would be a creative way to distribute food. Though there would be concerns regarding the actual distribution of food in this manner, Uber is a company that has grown a lot in the past year.
Hi Chloe,
ReplyDeleteYour elevator pitch was way better then mine! Good job talking about new information rather than just repeating what you have said in previous posts. There has to be a way for all this left over food to be distributed to those in need. Your idea has a lot of potential, but needs a little more work to make it perfect.
Chloe I really like your idea and passion to help those in need. Indeed, there is so much food wasted and unfortunately has to do a lot with food regulations. Walmart, Target, Publix rather throw away food that simply doesn’t look good or is about to expire that give it to those in need. Main reason for that is not to be liable in case someone gets food poisoning and they end up in a law suit.
